2012 All-Ages #1 Results

Jared Carlson showing rare form on his way to the 2012 title. He ran his mile in 7:00, then had another lap and doughnut to go.

A surprisingly nice evening met a number of participants in the first all-ages meet of 2012. Highlights were a couple of sub 5s in the mile, a close predict-a-mile, and a surprise race walk 100m.  Results are below.  Thanks for coming out.  Very big meet on Tuesday at Lincoln Southwest, hope you can make it.

The highlight of the evening was the doughnut 2k (videos and images coming soon).  We had our first two female finishers in the history of the race and a dominating event record on the men’s side.  Rebecca Tuttle won the women’s event in a close finish becoming the first lady to ever take on the 5 lap challenge.  For the men we had a number of last year’s competitors show up to try to take the crown from the defending champ, Mo Hamdan.  Lots of pre-race smack talking led up to the gun.  It was over after the first pastry was consumed.  Jared Carlson was 100m out before second place had even left the eating zone.  Combining a very unique strategy of liquid use and eating.  It was impressive.  Thanks for everyone’s support.
