Back at it

Not sure if I am out of the “young buck” category just yet, at least I don’t feel like it. Regardless I can’t argue the fact that I did not graduate college last year. So today’s thoughts are on a relatively new racing team here in Lincoln. Whenever I get the chance I love promoting the Lincoln Running Company. Tonight I highlight their store sponsored team and get more into the importance of groups like this.

But first, I have been lazy with the site lately. I KNEW this would happen at some point in time. That is fine though. Been fighting an injury for the most part, so that has had me bummin’. But really I have been busy traveling (went to Maui and hiked Long’s Peak in Colorado), getting ready for another school year, and most importantly hanging with my son before he starts day care (didn’t think it traumatize me that much, but it freaking did). Anyways on to the team Lincoln Running Co.

This team is based out of Lincoln, NE.  They were started up by Logan Watley and Eric Noel. Two Nebraska Wesleyan Alum.  Most of the original members were also alumni of NWU, but as the team has grown they have added members from UNL and the open categories.  They join Team Nebraska as one of the few competitive clubs in Nebraska.  These guys and gals come from a very solid back-ground.  They are also non-exclusive. They run with any group they can, though many of their hard workouts are done within the team.

The team has met with much success early on with both Logan and Eric notching up wins and/or solid performances in race distances from the mile up to the marathon.  I have not really had a chance to talk with Logan much, that is on my menu though.  But I was able to sit down with Eric after his marathon over some margaritas.  Full disclosure, Eric was a former runner of mine at North Star.
